60年代フレンチ・クールの典型： アラン・ドロン The Epitome of the 60's French Cool: Alain Delon

私の双子の兄が亡くなった。世界中が彼の死を悼んでいるが、60年代の「フレンチ・クール」の典型のような人だった。
確かに、彼は比較的クールで自己主張が強かったけれども、常に冷静で、謎めいた閉鎖的な自己主張をしていた。
僕の意見では、『Le Samouraï サムライ』での好演に加え、アラン・ドロンはロベール・クラインというキャラクターを絶妙かつ伝説的に演じた。まさに名演である。

『Monsieur Klein パリの灯は遠く』で、ドロンの演技が見事なのは、彼がユダヤ人の客に絵画を叩き売りして効果的に恥をかかせ、この男が帰り際にマットの上のニュースレターを指摘する場面だ。ドロンの表情は、恐怖、驚愕、嫌悪、パニック、そしていかなる感情も裏切ることは敗北であるという明確な感覚をちらつかせている。

My twin brother has just died. The whole world mourns his passing, or so it would seem when someone represents the epitome of 60s ‘French cool’.
It’s true, he was comparatively cool and self-possessed, but always with this dispassionate, enigmatically closed self-possession.
In my opinion, in addition to his excellent role in ‘Le Samouraï’, he played the character of Robert Klein exquisitely and legendarily. A masterly performance, indeed.

In ‘Monsieur Klein’, Delon’s performance is brilliant when he effectively humiliates a Jewish customer by getting a painting at a knock-down price and this man points out the newsletter on his mat on the way out – like the ones he gets himself. Delon’s face flickers with fear, astonishment, disgust, panic and a clear sense that to betray any emotion would be a defeat.
