ポール・シュレイダー監督の『MISHIMA』を約40年前に観た。この映画は凡作だと思う。(1)
海外で普通の映画が日本では検閲される。海外のテレビで普通に放送されている『MISHIMA』。大島渚の『愛のコリダ』も同様だ。
こうした日本の検閲ファシズムは、日本国民の未熟さ、行動障害、そして幼稚な性質を反映している。

I saw “Mishima”, by Paul Schrader, about 40 years ago. I consider the film as mediocre.(1)
Japan censors films that are standard films abroad, which are normally shown on television. It’s like Oshima’s “Ai no corrida”/ “In the Realm of the Senses”.
This kind of censorship fascism by Japan reflects the immaturity, behavioural disorders and infantile nature of the Japanese population.

『MISHIMA』はあらゆる手段で貼り付けられているように見える。痛々しいほど派手な色彩が目に刺さる。その哀愁は心に響く。カメラは空回りしながら回転し、その衝撃的な効果をブルドーザーのように画面に投げ込む。意図的な完璧さという形のこの「fake美しさ」は、視覚的なゴミである。美的な経済性、手段の削減、神話への慎重な探求は、三島由紀夫の人間像というテーマでは不可能である。(2)

“MISHIMA” seems glued together by any means necessary. The painfully garish colours are jarring to the eye. The pathos weighs heavily on the mind. The camera circles idly around itself. It dumps its surprise effects into the picture as if with a bulldozer. This “fake beauty” in the form of deliberate flawlessness is visual waste. Aesthetic economy, a scarcity of means, a cautious, questioning approach to the myth seem to be out of the question when it comes to decode MISHIMA Yukio. (2)
