Shitty International Art Collector, MAEZAWA Yusaku Re-sold that “Made in Japan” Basquiat. CAF should disappear. You suck.

We live in ephemeral, precarious times, where dementia is the norm. Even in Japan.
MAEZAWA Yusaku has bought himself a new toy, aka a small cock boat, made in Germany.
前澤友作さんは新しいmade in Germanyおもちゃ、aka a small cock boat、を購入した。

Where is your Maezawa Art Museum you promised to build in Chiba?
What was Maezawa, who psychopathically always wants to be in the limelight, thinking when he put Basquiat up for sale? And continues to pose with that Basquiat on the CAF website?
Indeed, a Japanese art collector of the worst kind, aka Nippon Shit Collector.
I want CAF to disappear. Because Maezawa, yusaku.
Are you ready for your LAST close-up here on ART+CULTURE, you sucker!?!

Japanese billionaire sends $110m Basquiat on ‘world tour’
Yusaku Maezawa broke the news on Instagram, saying he hopes the work will be “loved by people all over the world”

The Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa has sent his prized 1982 skull painting by Jean-Michel Basquiat on a world tour, just five months after he bought it for a record $110m (with fees) at Sotheby’s in New York.
Writing on Instagram, the 41-year-old entrepreneur says: “Good-bye for a while my Basquiat. I am hoping that you will be loved by people all over the world and move the hearts of people around the world. See you again soon. Have a good trip! #JeanMichelBasquiat #worldtour #imissyou.”
It is not clear where the painting will be shown, but Maezawa has always been open about his intentions to share his art. He posted on Instagram directly after the auction in May: “I am happy to announce that I just won this masterpiece. When I first encountered this painting, I was struck with so much excitement and gratitude for my love of art. I want to share that experience with as many people as possible.”
After travelling the world, the untitled canvas looks set to go on permanent display in Japan. According to Sotheby’s: “The painting will eventually be housed in a museum based in Mr. Maezawa’s hometown of Chiba.”

Sotheby’s Unveils $35 M. Basquiat Set to Make Auction Debut in May 2021
The painting shows influence from Basquiat’s time in Modena, Italy, where he had his first solo show, at Galleria d’Arte Emilio Mazzoli in 1981. The title of the piece references the Renaissance-era Medici family, and it has some of the signature Basquiat motifs—a full skeletal figure, a crown, anatomical drawings and scrawled phrases in the background—that are coveted by collectors.
“In Versus Medici, Basquiat melds the political and art historical as he consciously stages a reckoning with the Westernized ideal of visual culture and was intent on mastering and commandeering the accepted ‘rules’ of art history in order to break them,” Grégoire Billault, Sotheby’s New York head of contemporary art, in a statement.
Painted when the artist was just 22 years old, it has remained in the same private collection since 1990 and has never been sold at auction. Prior to 1990, the work was previously owned by the late Belgian art collector Stephane Janssen, an early promoter of the CoBrA movement, who purchased it from Larry Gagosian during a studio visit with Basquiat in 1982. It was featured in the 2017 exhibition “Intuition” at the Palazzo Fortuny in Venice and 2019 in “Basquiat” at the Mori Art Center Gallery in Tokyo, see the above picture.
Basquiat’s paintings from 1982 are the most valuable ones by him on the market, with nine of his most expensive works sold at auction made that year. The announcement follows Christie’s sale of Basquiat’s 1982 painting Warrior, from the collection of Aby Rosen, for $41.9 million on Tuesday in Hong Kong. That work has appreciated in value by 381 percent since its last sale, in 2012, where it made $8.7 million.

Further on, from Japan’s art market perspective, one wonders why collector MAEZAWA Yusaku, several weeks ago, bought one painting of Bradford for the sum of around 4 Mio US$ at Hauser & Wirth, Hongkong.

I saw the same painting in June at the entrance of the booth of LÉVY GORVY at ART BASEL, Switzerland. Prominently displayed in an eye-catching position, easily recognizable for potential collectors and the 95.000 visitors.
As this only 7 years old painting by Mark Grotjahn “Untitled (Yellow and Green Low Fall Face 41.80)” failed to find a buyer either at ART BASEL or 4 months later at Christie’s, I may hereby conclude that the darling of American Art Flippers couldn’t find any dumb European speculator with deep pockets.
The low estimate was US$ 7.8.million, which means a deal could have been done at around US$ 6.3 million in the post-sale environment.
Japanese collector Mr. MAEZAWA Yusaku 前澤友作氏 posed with great pride in front of Mark Grotjahn’s triptych which he seems to have bought directly from the artist’s studio for around US$ 45 million. In the actual art market matrix he could have had purchased the work for about US$ 18 million, – hence a whopping loss of US$ 27 million could be now “socialized” via his tax bureau.

Is this the end of the ‘MAEZAWA Yusaku Collection’?
https://art-culture.world/art-world/end-of-the-maezawa-yusaku-collection/
Maezawa, who owns 36 percent of ZOZO’s outstanding shares (which lost 50% of their value in one year), according to data compiled by Bloomberg, has steadily increased the amount of his stock holdings pledged as collateral in loan agreements to the banks mentioned above. The ratio was 88 percent in February, according to regulatory filings with the nation’s financial watchdog.
The coming months will be fun to watch. Maezawa cashes in some private money through his (not very convincing) art collection, because he actually is forced to do it.

American Adam Lindemann sold Japanese MAEZAWA Yusaku the below work by Basquiat through auction practice:

New York Times
A Collector’s-Eye View of the Auctions
By ROBIN POGREBIN, MAY 15, 2016
quotes:
Twenty-four hours after Adam Lindemann sold a Jean-Michel Basquiat at Christie’s for $57.3 million — an auction record for the artist — he found himself in the role of bidder as selling began for a 1942 Calder standing mobile at Sotheby’s last Wednesday night.
…
Mr. Lindemann’s decision to sell the Basquiat was therefore carefully considered. Given the uncertainty in the market, it could have seemed like a risky time to sell one of the most valuable pieces in his collection. But Christie’s had a buyer who had committed to paying at least $40 million for the piece. And Mr. Lindemann said the moment was actually opportune, given the lack of competition from other major consignments.

He did it again. Japan’s most famous art flipper, MAEZAWA Yusaku After having sold most of his art collection, he appears again with a big feature in the April edition of the Japanese magazine GOETHE.
Once upon a time Maezawa has been highly respected as a serious collector, who publicly promised in building a museum in Chiba (close to Tokyo) to share his collection with the interested Japanese population.
It was all fake. All lies. He sold his collection and didn’t build a museum. The actual, newly assembled collection is almost of MINOR artistic value, means, sorry for my harsh words, “Maezawa has no eye and no money”.
